Soapberries in the Forest

One of the many reasons we are working with soapberries is their potential to make a positive impact on the diversification of Honduras´forests.  When there is almost one hundred percent of only one kind of tree, as is the case with pine in many of the forests in Honduras, they are susceptible to plaques that wipe out acres and acres of trees that we need to maintain a healthy environment.  If we can demonstrate the economic value of soapberries, more people will plant them and it will impact  diversification and make the forests of Honduras healthier and more beneficial.  Seems like a good reason to at least give them a try, don´t you think?DSC04510
